I have escaped the two (plus) feet of snow that defeated the American East Coast recently for a one week stay on the island of O’ahu in Hawaii. It is currenly day two and I have absolutely nothing planned. Literally. Outside of my first day here, which involved scuba diving the incredible Pacific Ocean off the coast of Waikiki and attending the NFL Pro Bowl, I’m not sure what I’m going to do. But this was really my “plan” all along. When I visited Thailand a couple months ago I had my entire trip planned out before even getting on the plane. And while there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a plan, I wanted to do the opposite this time. For this trip, I wrote down a list of things I’d like to do and decided I’d figure it out when I get there. Well, I’m here and honestly it feels liberating to do what ever the hell I want when ever the hell I want. “What time is the whale watching tour? Oh, I missed it for today already? Ok. I’ll catch it tomorrow.” That was how my morning started. But I just found out Lion Coffee Co. gives tours of their coffee facility. As a coffee lover, this is right up my alley and sounds really cool. Plus, I’ve never seen how coffee is made. So let me get my life together because I have until 1pm to make it there. But before I depart, check out these incredible scuba diving photos from my first day on the island here.
